Simon can be related to the Bible in many ways (part 2)

In chapter 8, Gift for the Darkness, Simon is confronted by the lord of the flies as the pig head from Jack's sacrifice to the beast. Throughout the whole encounter the lord of the flies’ blasphemies Simon on how he is a silly little boy, and tries three times to persuade Simon not to tell the others that the beast is only a man in a parachute. Simon refuses after three times and runs away from the lord of the flies. This scene can be related to chapter 4 in the book Matthew of the bible when Jesus was confronted by Satan in the wilderness, the holy city, and on a high mountain. Just like the lord of the flies, Satan tried to tempt Jesus three times to sin, but Jesus backfires Satan’s temptations with scripture. Jesus leaves Satan after refusing to do what he says, Just like Simon and the lord of the flies.
